Synopsis
North Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Willis Newson are delighted to announce the list of artists commissions for the new Southmead Hospital. The artists are Tobias Rehberger (Germany); Ally Wallace (UK); Laura Ford (UK); Jacqui Poncelet (UK); Peter Randall-Page (UK); and Jaime Hayon (Spain).
Details
The artists were appointed to deliver art commissions for the new £430m Southmead Private Finance Initiative (PFI) development in Bristol in 2009/10, as part of the major arts programme developed by Willis Newson in partnership with PFI developer Carillon, North Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Fresh Arts.
The public art programme follows on from an art strategy produced by Willis Newson in 2007 to enhance the landscape and the hospital environment as a whole and support way finding.
