The Cascading Garden Handbook
Bristol based artists Eudaimon (Robert and Jak Ollett) were commissioned to develop a new public art work for St Anne’s Infants School and Wicklea Academy in Bristol during 2014. In response Eudaimon created ‘The Cascading Garden’, an exterior planting systems integrated into the architecture of the schools exterior spaces. Zigzag in form these hydroponic structures are made up of horizontal and vertical cylinders which are interspersed with a series of circular holes for plant pots in which plants can be grown. Much like a marble-run game, pupils are be able to sow seeds up and down the structure, watching the growth of plants and the resultant changes to the sculptural form.
