Herman Kolgen: 'Inject'
For one day only, artist and audiocinetic sculptor Herman Kolgen's award-winning installation Inject will open free to the public at Hengrove Park Leisure Centre. Projected on a giant screen at Hengrove's Olympic size pool, Inject depicts a human body immersed in a large cistern of water. Over 45 minutes the water pressure builds and the oxygen depletes, affecting the figure's nervous system. A remarkable sequence of live mixed sound and video illustrates a loss of touch with reality and invites a floating audience to consider the relationship between human biology and emotion.
